Thomas Deyle makes impressive blurry gradient based paintings on plexiglas panels. It's hard to focus the painting itself if there is not another common object next to it. Thomas uses commercially foam rollers to work on the gradient structure. The painting remains translucent until the end and is thus intimately linked with the respective light conditions, so that any change of light also changes the color in the own painting.
